CORY SELLERS: News

Comcast Bands on Demand - July 14, 2007

It's been a while since I've written. I've remained busy singing at
Wild Bill's in Atlanta over the past 6 months. The experience
continues to be a rewarding and challenging for me.

Just recently I filmed a segment for Comcast Bands on Demand with Jay
Harren at Vinyl. For those of you in the Atlanta area with Comcast,
go to the on Demand menu, Get Local, Local Music, Bands on Demand, and
click on Cory Sellers. It features live performances of
"Chattahoochee Sunrise" and "Loneliness." I'm going to try to post
the segment on my myspace page soon for all to see.

That's all for now. Take care.

A Call for Prayer - January 18, 2007

My cousin's husband, Mike has been fighting Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a form of cancer, since 1999. I had the pleasure of singing in their wedding two years ago and it's so apparent that they have such a God-centered relationship. In the little time that I've known Mike, it is apparent that he is true man of God and has an unshakable faith in God's sovereignty.

Recently, April and Mike were presented with a new chemo treatment option by a doctor in Houston. The treatment will be extremely tough on his body. Please pray for Mike's healing and for the wisdom and discernment that Mike and April need to make further decisions about this treatment process.

April has set upthis website on Mike's behalf to keep friends and family updated.

Take care,

Cory

2006 International Songwriting Competition - January 17, 2007

Back in the Fall, I entered "Chatahoochee Sunrise" in the 2006 International Songwrting Competition. Recently, I was informed that I have advanced to the next round of judging. The competition received over 14,000 entries in several different genres.

This Friday I'm excited to be playing at Buster's in Dahlonega, GA. This will be my first solo show outside of Wild Bill's in over a month. I love the big stage, but it's always refreshing to play for a smaller crowd armed with just the acoustic guitar. Tonight and Saturday I'll be at Wild Bill's with Cori and Kyle - it's always a blast!

Take care,

Cory

WILD NEWS! - December 22, 2006

This week I performed for the first time at Wild Bills in Atlanta. I am one of the new lead singers there and will be performing 3 nights a week. Wild Bills is the country's largest country music dance hall with capacity for nearly 5000 people. It has housed concerts for acts like Keith Urban, Phil Vassar, Rascal Flatts, Steve Azar, and others. This will be a great opportunity to hone my craft as a singer, songwriter, and performer.

Go to www.wildbillsatlanta.com to check it out.

Merry Christmas!

NEW EP on ITunes! - November 27, 2006

The new CD is up on iTunes. If you're iPod savy and no longer buy CD's, please click on the link above and download the new album...you'll be glad you did.

I'm playing at the Saloon again tomorrow night with Jeff Spirko. We'll be trading off playing our original material. Come on out! This is a great venue in Roswell, GA that needs a little lovin' from the ITP crowd (Atlanta folks know what I'm talking about) - so come out and enjoy a night at the Saloon.

It's Been A Long Time Coming... - October 31, 2006

The CD will be available for sale very soon. Since, I'm not big timing it yet, I'm at the mercy of CD Baby processing the CD in their system. But, as soon as I get word that it is ready for purchase, I'll pass the word along - which should be in the next few days. New dates have been added in the shows section. Check it out - take care.

New CD in October! - August 23, 2006

The time is almost here! The mix down and mastering are done. Graphics and duplication are in the works as we speak. Several months of work is coming to an end and I'm pumped about it. The 6 song EP will feature 5 new songs and a new take on an old one. Many of these tunes were featured as live performanes on the site for a while. I'm excited about releasing this new batch of songs - each captures a different emotion that translates through the production. Greg Lee has done a great job and I appreciate his hard work in producing this project. G. Lee...thank you brother.

Go to the music section and myspace to have a listen.

I'll be playing at Eighth and Rail in Opelika, AL. I'll be opening for Cory Branan who's songwriting has been compared to the likes of Ryan Adams and even Bob Dylan. The show will also be great for me as alot of my friends and family live in the Opelika/Auburn area, so I'll have a chance to visit with them.

More to come later...take care.

This Weekend and Other News - June 12, 2006

I'll be playing a pair of gigs in Auburn this weekend. On Friday, I'll be playing at the Fairways Lounge at the Marriott Grand National Hotel in Opelika. I'm looking forward to the laid back scene of this place as it overlooks the golf course where I used to play as a kid. That will be contrasted on Saturday night as I team up, once again, with OdieMcCool at the Skybar in Auburn. I'll be bringing a buddy along for this show...Jeff Spirko. Jeff played fiddle on my new record - he also plays mandolin and lead guitar...in fact, he's a talented singer/songwriter.

Check him out at www.myspace.com/spirkomusic.

We re-cut steel guitar this past weekend for the record. We employed Mark Van Allen - steel guitar extraordinaire - it sounds great. Mark played steel guitar in the original Sugarland band before the group was signed to a major label. At this point, we have to cut acoustic piano, some more background vocals, and I'll be re-cutting my vocals for a handful of songs before we mix down. The release date is still set for the Fall.

That's all I got - see everyone in Auburn this weekend. Take care.

IN THE STUDIO! - May 25, 2006

We have been tracking all week at Exocet studio in Atlanta. It's awesome to be around these awesome musicians and to hear all the songs come to life. A couple of highlights for me have been seeing Clay Cook lay down pedal steel guitar. Clay co-wrote "No Such Thing" and "Neon" with John Mayer and he's the most versatile musician I've ever seen. He played mandolin, flat pick acoustic guitar, banjo, and pedal steel. He's going to add some Hammond organ and piano next week. A few of the other musicians are Bret Hartley (electric guitar and dobro) and Jeff Spirko (fiddle) - these guys are a part of a group called Two Lane Road - made up of the original members of Sugarland. Jeff laid down fiddle on my new song "Chattahoochie Sunrise" and I almost had an aneurism. It was amazing. We're recording vocals tomorrow and saturday - from there, we have to mix down and master. Greg Lee is the MAN - his production ideas are amazing. More to come...take care.

Studio Time! - April 24, 2006

I'm set to enter the studio on May 1st to start recording my new record. I'm excited to see what comes out - we're going for a pop soul/pop country blend. Hopefully, it will be a little Gavin Degraw meets Keith Urban mix - that's what I'm going for atleast. I'm pumped about it and hope to have some rough cuts on the website asap. Take care.

Smith's Olde Bar Tonight - April 4, 2006

I'm excited about the shows tonight and tomorrow with Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood. We start tonight at Smith's Olde Bar. I'll be playing a combination of old songs from my first CD and songs that will be on my CD due out this year.

Tomorrow, we will be at the SkyBar in Auburn. The weather will be great, so come out.

I have my recording dates nailed down. I'll be in the studio May 1-3 and May 22-26. We're still deciding exactly what direction to go with the CD. I've recently written some songs that may fall more in the pop country genre, so we want to include that side as well. More to come.

Get Ready Auburn! - March 7, 2006

The lovliest village on the plains (and my hometown) will receive quite the stir this Friday as I team up with OdieMcCool again for a show at the SkyBar. We'll be trading licks back and forth all night. It was a blast back in January so expect the same again!

Also, if you want to show your support for us - OdieMcCool and myself - get there by 9 PM to beat the lines at the door. Our goal is to build a following in Auburn for our original music that is recognizable every time we play. The sooner people arrive, the sooner we start playing. So, please come early to send the message that you're there for the music! I tell you what...I'll have a free CD for the first 20 people that pay a cover charge on Friday...that's my appreciation for your support!

I'll be in Auburn again on Wednesday April 5th - this time with Charles Kelley - www.charleskelleymusic.com. Charles is an up and coming singer/songwriter from Augusta with powerful voice and a great sound. It runs in his family as his brother is Hollywood Records recording artist Josh Kelley. It will be an original show you don't want to miss! Once again, come out early!

I start pre-production on the new CD tomorrow night (Wednesday). I'm excited about the product that I'll put out with my producer Greg Lee's help. I'll try to post any sound bites that I can as they come available.

Lastly, check out the photo section for a few new pics with some folks you might recognize.

Take care - see you in Auburn this weekend!

HOW ABOUT ODIEMCCOOL! - January 30, 2006

How many times do I have to keep plugging these guys before you go to their website for yourself? (www.odiemccool.com) We had a blast at SkyBar in Auburn on Friday. We're looking forward to doing it again real soon. Be on the look out!

So bring it!

Park Bench with Francisco and Friends - January 13, 2006

What's up everyone -
I had a great time playing a few sets at the Park Bench with Francisco and my new friends Dwight and John. We all rotated in and out - singing and playing. I even jumped on lead guitar for a few - scary! Thanks to my best friend Mr. Stephen Woodham for the pics. Check 'em out in the photo gallery.

I'm playing Sunday evening at Cheeseburger in Paradise from 6 pm to 10 pm. Check it out!
